Origin

Green tea (Camellia sinensis) has been used as an infusion almost since the beginning of historical times. Green tea, being directly dried and not fermented, as are Black and Oolong teas, retains most of the original compounds present in fresh leaves. The catechins it contains, a subgroup of flavonoids, represent roughly one third of the total composition of its leaves.

Action

The leaves of green tea (Camellia sinensis) have antioxidant properties, which are a hundred times more potent than those of vitamin C. This makes it an interesting product to postpone premature ageing as much at the level of the skin as at the vascular level.The nutritional supplements with green tea is also recommended for heavy smokers, in conjunction with weight loss programmes, or to regulate one's cholesterol.

The extraction procedure that we apply to the leaves allow us to avoid high concentrations of undesirable substances, such as caffeine and theophylline, and favour the concentration of nutritional complements that can improve health, namely the catechins.
